Why do people say that they went to the gym and did 30 minutes cardio instead of saying they ran, or cycled for 30 minutes. Do they think it makes them sound cool? Maybe they think people won't understand the word cardio and have to ask, making them look stupid, but the joke is one the cardio person because when we do find out we'll just say, "Oh, so you ran for 30 minutes?"
Or maybe it's needed as the justification for paying for a gym membership. I mean who wants to pay £50 per month to go and run. You can run anywhere, right?
So 30 minutes cardio is well worth £50 per month, but 30 minutes running is not, apparently.
